The Great Saparmurat Turkmenbashy National “Ak Bugday” Museum is located in Anau City, Ak Bugday District, Ahal Province, and is considered one of the largest museums in our country. Even though this historical museum has not been open for a long time, it already enjoys great prestige. In this short period, it has been visited by hundreds of young people and tourists, providing them with a great opportunity to explore and broaden their horizons by viewing archaeological findings, historical and cultural monuments of the Turkmen people, and ancient garments of Turkmen women. The Great Saparmurat Turkmenbashy National “Ak Bugday” Museum was inaugurated on July 15, 2005, during the Grain Festival celebrations in our country. This historical museum consists of 2 floors and 4 sections: 1. Archaeology Section. 2. Ethnography Section. 3. Agriculture and Farming Section. 4. Independence Section. In the Archaeology Section, findings uncovered during archaeological excavations are displayed, including wheat grains, items made of ceramic clay, and pottery fragments. Also preserved here are a horse tooth and ankle bone, indicating that horses were domesticated as far back as the 2nd millennium BC.
